We ordered a salad, but it contained small black specks. We ended up in the hospital immediately.

We had envisioned a lovely evening. Two friends, a cozy little restaurant downtown, some quinoa, lively conversation, and that wonderful feeling of seclusion. But what should have been a quiet dinner turned into a scene straight out of a thriller. And I can tell you, we’ve looked at food in a completely different light ever since.

A delicious salad… but one detail is puzzling.

Everything seemed perfect. The atmosphere, the music, the beautifully presented dishes. My friend, a health enthusiast, had opted for an avocado quinoa salad. Just as she was about to take a bite, her expression changed.

“Do you see this?” she asked, pointing to her fork dangling between her plate and mouth. Tiny black dots. Tiny. Too numerous to be accidental, yet so subtle they were barely noticeable. At first, we thought they were chia seeds. Aren’t they all the rage right now? But something was definitely off. This feeling of doubt quickly turned into unease.
