Vertical Lines
Vertical ridges or longitudinal grooves are common and usually run from the cuticle to the tip of the nail. They are often age-related, as nail ridges can become more pronounced with age.

In some cases, they can also be a sign of a nutrient deficiency, such as a lack of certain minerals or vitamins (vitamin B12, magnesium, or iron).

Vertical wrinkles are common in older people and are often harmless. However, if they appear suddenly or become more noticeable, possible underlying conditions such as anemia or thyroid problems should be investigated.

Horizontal Lines
Horizontal lines or ridges, also known as fine lines, can indicate more specific health problems.
