
Very Dirty Mop? Don’t Buy a New One—Try This Instead
1. Baking Soda Solution
Add ½ cup of baking soda to a bucket of warm water.
Soak the mop or rags for a couple of hours.
Rinse until the water runs clear.
Optionally, wash in the washing machine: place baking soda in the detergent drawer, set temperature to 70°C, and wash.
2. Vinegar Disinfectant
Mix 1 cup of vinegar per liter of warm water.
Soak the mop for 30 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly and wring out excess water.
For stronger cleaning, add 2 tablespoons of baking soda.
3. Lemon Freshener
Fill a container with water and the juice of 2 lemons.
Soak the mop for 1 hour.
Rinse well.
Lemon not only disinfects but also removes bad odors.
4. Ammonia Mix
Combine water and a small amount of ammonia.
Soak the mop, then rinse very well to remove all residue.
Dry completely before storing to prevent unpleasant smells.
5. Tea Tree Oil Treatment
Add the juice of 2 lemons to warm water.
Add a few drops of tea tree oil.
Soak the mop for 30 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly for a fresh, antibacterial finish.
