How bathing too often can harm your health

5. It can leave you feeling tired rather than refreshed.

While showering can be invigorating, showering too frequently, especially after eating or physical exertion, can force your body to work harder to adjust its circulation. Instead of boosting your energy, this can lead to exhaustion, dizziness, or fatigue.

It’s important to choose the right time to shower: ideally, after your body has cooled down from exercise and at least an hour after eating.

How often should you take a bath?

For most adults: Once a day is perfectly sufficient.

Older adults or people with dry skin: Every 2–3 days is often enough; on the days in between, a gentle sponge bath is recommended.

Always moisturize your skin after bathing to replenish lost moisture.

Avoid very hot or very cold water.

Use mild, fragrance-free soaps that don’t strip your skin’s natural oils.
